This page is no longer relevent as we played our last gig there on December 4th 2022. However it is a record of a eight happy years when Vince and Jan provided us with a great home. They are retiring and we will be moving our regular Ottery gig to The Royal British Legion, Westhill. Our first gig there will be on Sunday 8th January, and we will be there from 7.30 to 10.00 on the second Sunday of every month. See the "Gigs" page for details.
We look on The London Inn, Ottery St Mary, as our home, and the people who come along to listen have become real friends. It's where we go to relax and have a fun time together. The landlord, Vince Palmer, shown here with his wife Jan, booked us for our first gig in October 2014 and, apart from the enforced absence with Covid restrictions, we have been there almost every month since then. The gig is always on the first Sunday of the month from 7:30 to 10:00.

The personel of the band has changed over the years. Since Covid, we have been treating the punters to a wider selection of local musicians. There are the regulars of Chris Stockings on drums, Colin Fulcher on bass, Pete Miller on guitar and Dave Martin on brass , and they are always joined by two guest musicians. There is always a guest reed player, but, because Dave plays either trumpet or trombone, the other guest can be either a trumpet or trombone player.
Each month Dave sends out a round robin reminding people about the up-coming gig and giving information about who is playing. If you would like to be put on the circulation list get in touch Dave - details on the Contacts page. |
The slide show below shows a selection of the musicans we have had played with us at the London Inn over the last three years.
Often members of the audience, both musicians and singers, take to the stage and add to the jolly atmosphere. The video below gives a good flavour of what an evening at the London Inn is like.
